Studio Senex

Studio Senex is a small furniture design and fabrication business based in Oakland, California.  The founder, Tim Drew, has been making beautiful furnishings for over 15 years using lumber reclaimed from local construction projects. 

 

Many buildings and landscapes throughout the San Francisco Bay Area are constructed with high-quality lumber harvested decades ago from west coast forests.  These remarkable materials are simply no longer available, prohibitively expensive, or harvested from older trees that should be left standing.  Studio Senex works with local builders to redirect decks, fences, and stud walls from the waste stream to a better purpose when buildings are demolished.  Furnishings made from this material feature exceptionally fine wood grain and unique character due to its age and previous use as construction material.
